After reading and hearing all the good reviews about the Colourpop lippie stix I decided to order some!
They had some kits that were on sale so I grabbed one of those ( The Persuade Me) which came with 6 shades for $ 20. Plus I grabbed two other on which I had my eyes since some time.
The kit offered a variety of colors from light to dark. So I thought that would be a good opportunity to test out their formula on different shade ranges.
I must say Colourpop is becoming one of my favorite brands ever. I was not disappointed. The lippie stix are just as great as the other products I own from Colourpop!
They perform like a dream and in my opinion just as good and even better than some high-end lipsticks I own.
The application: they go on so smooth they do not tug or anything its like a light breeze is touching your lips. They do not skip and you almost never need to go a second time over to build up the color.
The color payoff is insane!
As far as the finish and the texture of the Lippie stix goes, almost all of the ones that I own come in the Matte X formula, they instantly leave your lips with a matte look, I kind of get the feeling like I have the smoothest velvety powder on my lips, but not in a bad way, not at all. I don’t know exactly how to describe it, but if you ever wore a matte lipstick that went immediately into all of your fine lines and felt like the life was sucked out of your lips, well Now just imagine the complete opposite of that and that’s how good these feel on the lips.
Now to the lasting power: I just want to say Wooooohoooo!
They stay on for hours and hours. I ate, drank with these on and they stayed on the place without moving anywhere.
They stay so good on that they even got my lips stained after I wore the one red shade and I am not mad about it 😀
If you are looking for some of the best, affordable ( only $ 5 ), lipsticks that won’t dry your lips, that will last forever on, that will give you an insane color payoff than you really should check the Colourpop Lippie stixs.
I do not regret buying these. Not even 0.0000000001%
Highly highly HIGHLY recommend them!
And if you live outside of the U.S you can check the post I wrote about the whole ordering process from Colourpop if you live outside of the U.S 🙂
The shades that came in the Persuade Me Kit:
Ziggie: Matte X Lippie Stix; dark terracotta
Daydream: Matte X Lippie Stix; plummy brown
Le Freak: Matte X Lippie Stix; deepened red wine
Goldie: Matte X Lippie Stix; rich brick red
Hotline: Matte X Lippie Stix; mid-tone dirty peach
Upside Down: Matte X Lippie Stix; light peach
The only shade that is a little to light for me (for reference I am between NC 15-20 on a MAC foundation) is Upside Down. The way I use it is to lighten other lipsticks.
And the two other shades I picked up are :
Crack me Up Matte X Lippie Stix; greige rose ( If you own Beeper in the Ultra Matte formula well this would be the same color but in the lippie stix formula, they describe it as Beeper’s Lippie Stix sister 🙂 )
Tootsie: Matte Lippie Stix; pinky greige. ( this is the only one that gets me confused, sometimes when I wear it, it forms a weird white line where the top and bottom lips meet, I don’t know whats with that and why it appears on sometimes when I wear it, other than that I absolutely love the color)
Have you tried any of the Colourpop Lippie Stix? What do you think of them? And if not will you try them?
