Could this be the best new foundation at the Drugstore?!

Ladies and gents I’m talking about the new foundation from Essence Cosmetics! It’s called Fresh & Fit Awake Make Up. This foundation is targeted more towards normal to dry skin and it claims to give you that healthy glow.

The foundation is infused with vitamin complex (vitamin b3, e, and provitamin b5) and cranberry water. It comes in a glass botel with a pump at it contains the usual 30 ml/ 1.01 fl.oz.

The claims: It claims to have a breathable texture with a wake-up effect that lets your skin glow in a healthy way. It provides a medium to high coverage, without the mask effect.

And the best part is that you can get the foundation under $ 5! That is a really good price for what it claims to be, you can not beat it!

But now comes the HUGE con about this foundation, IT ONLY COMES IN 4 SHADES!!! That, in my opinion, is insane! First, they don’t cater at all to darker skin tones, but even if you have a fair complexion you might run short with this one!

I’m something between NC 15 and NC 20 in MAC foundations and I got the lightest shade in 10 Fresh Ivory and that seems to match me perfectly!

Now my experience with this foundation: The foundation has a gel-like consistency and a light fresh sense, I don’t think it is an overpowering sense and as soon as you apply the foundation it goes away. The foundation applies beautifully it sits so well on my skin it doesn’t emphasize any texture or pores, it creates a seamless glowy, healthy canvas for the rest of the make-up. I don’t think that you need to set this foundation but it takes a couple minutes until it sets and I find my self-setting my face when I am in a rush and need to leave the house quickly, but I don’t mind it!

At first application, the foundation gives a medium coverage and you can build it up to a high coverage without any problem, it just builds up so beautiful without looking cakey or crusty!

The wear time isn’t that bad as well. Until the 5 hour mark, it wears without any fading away. Then it starts (at least on my skin) to break up around my nose which I don’t find that bad!

Now is this the most long wearing foundation I’ve ever tried NO but still I would trust this foundation an 8 hour day since it fades away really graciously.

I wouldn’t recommend this foundation to people with oily skin, I think that this foundation cannot handle oily skin, but if you have dry skin like I do or normal skin I would highly recommend it to you if any of these 4 shades match you.

In conclusion, If you have normal to dry skin, in my opinion, this is so far one of the best foundations at the drug store that I have tried so far!

Still, I want to address the shade range issue, I think that it is really inappropriate for brands in 2018 to still come out with only 4 shades! That isn’t fair to anyone. POC and even People with really fair skin tones should have the option just as much as anyone else that is included in their shade range!

So dear Essence Cosmetics I really, truly think that you should work on that, you guys really have some great products, but it isn’t any good if only 4 skin tones can use your make-up!
